Postgraduate Scholarships

The following is a list of all postgraduate scholarships offered by Universities New Zealand – Te Pōkai Tara, the area of study or objectives, and the closing date for applications.

Applications open usually four months before the closing date.

Note for Applicants: In applying for a scholarship applicants are confirming that they have read, understood and accept University NZ's Privacy Notice and Scholarships Appeals Policy.

Two application rounds each year.

Commonwealth Scholarships to the UK

The UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will provide funding for Commonwealth Scholarships for candidates from developed Commonwealth countries including New Zealand in 2017/18 for PhD and Split-Site PhD study. 

Candidates for these scholarships are asked to apply direct to the CSC using their Electronic Application System (EAS). The EAS is now open and will close on the 21st March 2017 at 23:59 GMT.

New Zealand Aid Programme Awards for Postgraduate Field Research

New Zealand Commonwealth Doctoral Scholarships

For eligible applicants from Canada and the UK. Applications must be submitted through the appropriate Nominating Agency - the CBIE in Ottawa or the CSC in London.

New Zealand-France Friendship Fund Excellence Scholarship

The Joint Board of the New Zealand France Friendship fund has decided that its Excellence Scholarship will be discontinued effective 1 January 2017.

The final scholarships have been awarded for the 2017 academic year and no further scholarships will be offered.

 


New Zealand Law Foundation Ethel Benjamin Scholarship

Postgraduate research in Law that encompasses the wider objectives of the NZ Law Foundation and that will protect and promote the interests of the public in relation to legal matters in New Zealand.
