The Milford Foundation scholarship was established in 2022 with the aim of reducing unequal access to tertiary education, by providing financial support to school leavers for whom cost is a barrier. Scholarship recipients also benefit from the Milford Foundation network to support them in their higher education journey and career path.

The Sir Douglas Myers Scholarship is for undergraduate study at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, and is made available through the generosity of the late Sir Douglas Myers. The Scholarship provides an opportunity for students who have already distinguished themselves academically to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Sir Douglas expressed the hope that graduates will return to New Zealand to become leaders in their chosen fields, to the direct benefit of New Zealand and its people.

The Girdlers' Scholarship is for undergraduate study at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University.  Girdler Scholarships aim to transform lives by offering opportunities not otherwise available.  With this in mind, we will try to give priority to scholars who will be the first generation in their family to go to university, and to those from less affluent backgrounds.

The funds for this scholarship are provided by the income from a bequest made to the University of New Zealand in 1907 by Daniel O'Sullivan, a farmer from Pleasant Point, Canterbury.

The scholarship is open to applications from students of the Roman Catholic faith who will attend Medical School at either the University of Auckland or the University of Otago.
