UNZ launches new Introductory TR-PSR training module

23 May 2023 | news

Universities New Zealand (UNZ) is pleased to announce the launch of a new online training series aimed at raising awareness about risks relating to foreign interference and export controls compliance in university research activities.

The first module in the series is TR-PSR 101: An introduction to the Trusted Research-Protective Service Requirements (TR-PSR), which outlines the values-based approach that universities in Aotearoa are adopting for the TR-PSR and provides practical guidance on ways to protect university researchers and research.

The next module in the series, TR-PSR 201: Risk Assessments, will be released later this year and will provide a deep dive into TR-PSR risk assessments.

These modules support the high-level guidance and tools for universities that UNZ produced in 2022 (Trusted Research -Protective Security Requirements: Guide for Senior University Leaders in Aotearoa New Zealand) that can be found here on our website. The modules will be made available by each university research office through their institutional Learning Management System.

UNZ is grateful to the Office of Research Strategy and Integrity team at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland for their assistance in creating these modules.
