Call for Applications: New Zealand Postgraduate Students’ Mobility Grant to France
Strengthening strategic university cooperation between France and New Zealand is a priority that will significantly enhance our capacity to deliver world-class research and to develop innovative, jointly delivered postgraduate training programmes. Both sectors are committed to building long-term, research-driven strategic partnerships. Facilitating the mobility of postgraduate students is a key component of this vision.
The 2025 Mobility Grant aims to support the travel of New Zealand postgraduate students to France. There are no restrictions regarding the nature of the mobility project; eligible activities include summer schools, short-term programs, and research internships.
Eligibility
To be eligible applicants must:
- Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (Note: Dual French-New Zealand nationals are not eligible).
- Be students undertaking research at a New Zealand university as part of their enrolment in a Masters or PhD degree in any field of study.
Note: There is no requirement for the applicant to speak or understand French
Value and Number awarded:
One or more awards will be made each year.
The grant will support travel to France, including its overseas territories New Caledonia or French Polynesia.
The French Embassy will award grants of:
- NZD 5,000 for mobility to mainland France.
- NZD 3,000 for mobility to New Caledonia or French Polynesia.
No award will be granted if the selection panel is of the opinion that there is no candidate who is of sufficient merit.
