Brian Gaynor Initiatives – Scholarship in Journalism

The Brian Gaynor Initiatives, via the Milford Foundation,
has established the Brian Gaynor Scholarship in
Journalism, a contestable scholarship to encourage
and support final year undergraduate students
interested in pursuing journalism, with a focus on
business journalism, as a career.

In June 2023, Anna Gibbons established the
Brian Gaynor Business Journalism Initiatives (the Initiative).
The Initiative was designed to recognise the contribution
that Brian Gaynor (co-founder of Milford Asset
Management Limited) made to business journalism in
New Zealand, and to help strengthen and promote the
quality and appeal of New Zealand business and economic
writing and journalism.

The scholarship is open to applications from tertiary students who are in the final year of study towards an undergraduate degree relevant to a career in journalism. Applicants must show an intent to build a career in business journalism.
